Hastings Anglers Club exists to promote and support trout fishing in the Hawke’s Bay region of New Zealand’s North Island to both club members and the wider angling community nationally and internationally.
The jewel in our crown is Patangata Lodge, on the banks of the famed Tuki-Tuki River in Central Hawke’s Bay. The lodge provides accommodation for up to 20 anglers, including kitchen and bathroom facilities.
If walking distance to the most productive stretch of the Tuki-Tuki wasn’t enough, there’s a country pub next door with full bar menu.
Patangata Lodge is available to non-club members and used as a base for fishing trips by other angling clubs and individuals from across New Zealand and overseas. Find out more by contacting our Lodge Custodian, Mark Hyett on 027 449 9175 or hyett@xtra.co.nz
Our members enjoy twice-monthly club meetings in Hastings where we cover everything from casting clinics, to fly-tying and speakers covering a range of fly-fishing and fisheries topics. We also arrange club away-trips to fisheries across the country.
Our relationships with fishing tackle stores in the region gives members significant discounts on all of their fishing, hunting and outdoors equipment purchases.
We are fortunate in having many members with extensive fly-fishing experience and skills which they are always willing to share with others and welcome new members of all levels of ability and experience.
We welcome new members of all levels of fishing abilities and you can find out more about joining the club also by contacting Mark Hyett or by filling in the form below.

The Club adopted the rules of the Otago Anglers Club. The Patangata Hall was purchased by the Club in October 1977 for use as a Club Lodge because of its setting beside the Tuki Tuki River
